Option for defining smart host configuration in WHM
As a Server Administrator, I want an option for defining smart host configuration in WHM, so that smart host can easily be configured and used for things such as spam blocking and email limiting.
There should be an option for defining smart host configuration in the WHM.
Creating exim.conf.local with smarthost does not limit the number of emails per hour per domain.
Only way to limit the emails with smarthost is to modify the template files
/usr/local/cpanel/etc/exim/replacecf/domainkeys/lookuphost
And
/usr/local/cpanel/etc/exim/replacecf/lookuphost
Which gets replaced when Cpanel auto updates as it does a .cpanelsync check against these files to ensure there's a proper md5sum match with the templates.
So either we have to protect these files( if cPanel modifies an Exim ACL to down the road that change won't propagate into your configs which is not good) or keep making changes on every update which is too much work if someone like me have many servers.
I am sure many people use smarthost for reasons like spam blocking. So I think this option is must.
This is a feature that has been migrated over from the cPanel Forums. All previous comments and discussions concerning this feature can be located at:

I would like to add to this as it would be useful to be able to define singular domains going to specific smarthosts as currently this doesnt work anymore either.
cPanel support confirmed to log this request.
