Run both MySQL and MariaDB on the same server

As a server administrator and web hosting provider I would like cPanel to provide the option to have both MySQL and MariaDB on the same server, so that I (or my clients) can choose the best option for themselves.

Any update on this?

Why are you ignoring the feature requests, simply reply "NO" or just mark it as in-progress or whatever.

Personally i would love such a option to be added to the cPanel.

Regards.

I am currently the only Community Manager on the team. We're hiring, so hopefully that won't be the case for long, but I fell behind in my moderation duties on the site (obviously) and I am sorry for that. I'm doing my best to get it caught up and will try to answer and provide updates as best I can.

As I understand it, there are some fundamental conflicts in the way that these databases work that prevent us from being able to offer both on the same server, but it's not my area of expertise.

Just so you're aware, this isn't something we're ignoring, we've actually got something like this on our aspirational (internal) roadmap for databases, though it is down the road a bit. I would love to hear further use cases as well as get a better understanding of the amount of interest there is for multiple side-by-side databases.
